The Manhattan Video Grabber is difficult to install and sync with your computer. The driver installation options for the Manhattan VHS to DVD converters were complicated and tough to follow. However, after the drivers were successfully downloaded, we found that the video converter was easy to use with most editing and video capture programs.
The Manhattan Video Grabber has a built-in function to take screen shots while recording videos. These screen shots are especially useful when creating DVD menus and presentations. The video capture device can import video using composite and S-video cable inputs. Also included with the purchase of one of the Manhattan VHS to DVD converters is a lifetime manufacturer’s warranty on the device itself, but not the software.
The software included with the Manhattan Video Grabber has a large variety of editing functions. It is easy to use and download. Using the Dynno Video Streaming Editing and Burning Software, you can easily capture, edit and upload video to YouTube, Facebook or even export the video to mobile devices such as the iPhone or PSP. Also, you can create title menus, edit DVD chapters and fix any corrupted video.
After syncing the Manhattan Video Grabber to your computer, you will be able to breeze through video upload, editing and distribution.
The Manhattan Video Grabber worked smoothly with a variety of software applications and was able to record copyrighted material. We were able to transfer VHS to PC using Windows XP, Vista and 7 operating systems. We also transferred video directly from our VCR to DVDs.
Downloading the drivers for the Manhattan Video Grabber was exceptionally complex. After inserting the CD, a large menu appeared on our screen with eight different download options depending on which type of computer we were using and which video software was already installed on the computer. After reviewing the menu we chose the driver to install, restarted our computer and the device still wasn’t recognized. We uninstalled the driver and tried another and another and still no luck. Rather frustrated, we turned to the website, downloaded the driver provided, restarted our computer and we were finally able to use the VHS to DVD converters. Downloading the necessary software was much easier, but still took some time.
The process required to use the Manhattan Video Grabber was much longer than some of the video capture devices.
The help options from Manhattan are limited and the response time was slow. There are no live chats, telephone lines or email addresses to ask for help. There is only an online submission form and it took more than a day for our question to be answered. Also, the help options referred us to the reseller where we purchased the product before we contacted the manufacturer directly.
The Manhattan Video Grabber is difficult to install and the help options are limited. We were able to use the product only after about an hour of installation and download.
